Become a Transnational Corporate Leader with HSE’s Master’s Programme in International Management
The HSE Faculty of Business and Management has launched a new master’s programme, ‘Master of International Management’. The programme, which is the latest addition to the University’s wide array of English-taught programmes, will prepare students for careers in international company management.
A unique feature of the programme is that students will have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at a leading international business school. This allows students to gain practical experience with intercultural collaboration and strengthen their cross-cultural skills. HSE News Service spoke with programme academic supervisor Anna Gryaznova about the programme’s international component, curriculum, and more.
International Component
The international ‘component’ of our programme is not merely one aspect of the curriculum but rather the programme’s central philosophy. True to its name, the programme is international in spirit: courses are taught entirely in English, we have international students, our faculty includes international professors, students are required to complete a semester abroad, and students have the opportunity to complete a double-degree programme. All this makes our programme truly international. Moreover, our programme partners include the world’s leading business schools:
HEC Paris, ESSEC Business School, ESCP Europe, WU–Vienna University of Economics and Business, Lancaster University Management School, and others.
Practical Experience
The ‘Master of International Management’ Programme is a full-time programme that is designed to allow students to put their acquired knowledge into practice and gain experience in the business sphere without interrupting their studies. Students implement two consulting projects for international partner companies; they take part in faculty and university projects; and they complete internships at leading Russian and foreign companies. Full-time education assumes that students are invested in their future, and we expect our students to devote themselves fully to all aspects of the programme.
Preparing Students for Careers in Transnational Business
The programme is implemented in close collaboration with business sector leaders while drawing upon the resources and expertise of the Faculty of Business and Management. Leading Russian banks (Sberbank, VTB Bank), FMCG sector companies (L'Oreal, Novartis, P&G), global consulting companies (Accenture, BCG, PwC, AT Kearney), world famous IT companies (Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, Lanit), and others provide opportunities for students to participate in consulting projects, complete internships, and gain crucial insight for their term papers and theses. Representatives of these companies participate in the educational process, bring their firsthand experience to the classroom, lead master classes, and engage in discussions on pressing issues of the market. Moreover, company leaders serve on the programme’s Academic Council, so we receive feedback directly from the market very quickly about what we are doing and how.
Teaching Staff, Curriculum, and Project Work
The programme’s curriculum centers around three cross-cutting themes: global strategies and operations; digital transformation and new business models; and corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
The ‘Master in International Management’ Programme is taught by leading Russian and foreign professors, business heads, experts, and corporate partner representatives. Courses are based on case studies and project activities, and this allows us to further orient the programme towards the current needs of the international business sector and prepare our students for successful careers.
Admissions to HSE’s Master’s programmes are open until August 14, 2020. International students can apply online. Graduate applicants can register for preliminary portfolio assessment.
