Window into the Brain: HSE Researchers Are Developing a New Generation of MEG Devices
In collaboration with scientists from the Ioffe Institute, HSE researchers have developed an ultra-sensitive atomic magnetometric scheme with a sensitivity of 5 fTl×Hz-1/2, setting a performance record for sensors operating in the Earth's magnetic field. The scheme will be used to design a multichannel atomic magnetoencephalograph, expected to be the most accurate and compact device available today for non-invasive measurement of the brain's electrical activity.

International Undergraduate Applicants to Compete in Olympiad for HSE Scholarships for 2019 Academic Year
On August 10, online registration opened for the 2019 International Youth Olympiad. The winners and prize recipients of the event have the chance to receive a full or partial scholarship to study in one of HSE’s bachelor’s programmes.

American Student in St. Petersburg: Understanding Modern Russia

HSE Enters ARWU Ranking for the First Time
The Higher School of Economics has entered the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for the first time. The ranking is known for its strict selection criteria. This year, 12 Russian universities, including 10 participants of Project 5-100, entered the ranking. Until 2016, only 2 representatives of Russia were included- MSU and St. Petersburg State University.

International Student Projects by School of Business Informatics and Hogeschool Rotterdam
Project cooperation between the HSE School of Business Informatics and the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Rotterdam) started in 2016, and for the last two years, undergraduate students of Business Informatics have successfully participated in the development of information systems for Dutch companies.
HSE Institute of Education Now Able to Nominate Projects for Yidan Prize
The HSE Institute of Education has been authorised to nominate projects for the largest annual prize awarded in the field of education, the 2019 Yidan Prize. The size of the prize is nearly four times that of the Nobel Prize, with $3.87 million being awarded in two categories – education research and education development.

Sergey Kozlov, a graduate of ICEF and currently LEGO’s operations director in Seoul, told Success Builder why he likes moving, why the Christiansens’ family business doesn’t fire people, and whether or not he gets to play with LEGO bricks at his desk.
